Titanic Quarter
Belfast Metropolitan College is Northern Ireland’s largest higher education facility. The concept for the development was founded on creating a strong campus identify that would convey its civic role, respond to best practice educational principles and become a vibrant living community for those who work there, study or visit.
The building comprises a pair of cranked ‘arms’ embracing a courtyard. The arms contain four storeys of training and teaching accommodation, linked at the southern end of the site by a series of bridges contained within a six storey triangular atrium. The central landscaped courtyard also accommodates passive recreation activities and seating allowing for the opportunity of potential outdoor lectures or seminars.
