Lurgan College, a co–educational grammar school for children in years 11–14, is a mode of post primary education established under the Dickson Plan for this particular area of Northern Ireland. Occupying a secluded site on the edge of the town its accommodation is of mixed age and quality. Our proposal seeks to re–establish the original Victorian listed building at the heart of the redeveloped school and to organise the new teaching accommodation around two enclosed courtyards. Particular consideration has been given to phasing, to limit impact on the school children and unnecessary expenditure on decant accommodation.
