A popular secondary school catering for the local east Belfast community, it was identified as one of the first projects to proceed under the Belfast Schools Partnership which was established in 2008 between the local education board and private sector partner Amey FMP. The design response is based around a central street, with teaching accommodation accessed directly off it over three levels. The street is envisaged as a meeting / learning space, complete with ‘cyberium’ and large IT wall, acknowledging the importance ‘in between’ spaces play in new educational environments.
