The consciously contemporary new teaching centre is within Queen’s University’s Medical Biology Centre (MBC) adjacent to the University’s Health Sciences faculties. The project provided new centrally located teaching accommodation, rationalising the existing multi–site provision. The building contains a new 330 seat lecture theatre, 11 teaching spaces capable of accommodating 20 to 100 students and a new main entrance with easy access to this surrounding accommodation. The Centre sits at the base of the tower block between two flanking wings. Separated from the tower by a top–lit atrium, natural light is brought deep into the building.
