The commission required the user client’s production facility to be operational by 1st November 1996; ten months after the date of confirmation of commission. The design process was undertaken and completed to enable site commencement within 14 weeks of commission. The advanced ordering of major building elements, which were all tendered separately, permitted an extremely fast on site contract period, which in turn enabled the user to begin fitting out of plant and machinery within four months of commencement of the main contract. All elements of the contract were procured by traditional tender and contract methods, enabling the client tight control of budget and quality. The project was completed on programme and within budget.
