We are a client focused practice that delivers high quality design solutions, that enhance the built environment, add value and improve the lives of users.
TODD Architects established in 1976, have grown to be included within the Architects Journal’s list of top 100 UK practices, with offices in Belfast, London, Dublin and associated studios in Edinburgh and Riyadh, KSA.
We have developed expertise in a wide spectrum of project categories, ranging from those of basic architectural requirement to complex buildings of high technological content and major developments of visual, environmental and commercial significance.
Our commission base covers public and private sectors, with specialisations developed in healthcare, education, offices, retail, residential, arts, leisure and cultural facilities. This expertise extended in 2013 into the fields of aviation and infrastructure, through the company’s acquisition of MAP (McAlister Armstrong and Partners), and their subsequent full integration under the TODD banner in early 2016.
Our completed buildings have been delivered under a range of procurement routes, from a ‘traditional’ approach to Design & Build – where we are regularly retained by contractors In a delivery role.
In addition to our core discipline of architecture, we offer project management, town planning, masterplanning, urban design, workplace and interior design services.
We are quality assured under an Integrated Management System (to ISO 9001,14001 and OSHAS 18001), have an office “Green Team” that researches and disseminates sustainable design guidance, and through investment in appropriate software and staff training, are increasingly engaged in projects where BIM modelling is required.
Our commitment to design quality is most directly evidenced in the number of RIBA and other industry awards completed buildings have received and, from the perspective of service quality, in the number of commissions that we secure through repeat clients.
We have been recognised both for our approach to business improvement in achieving Investors In People Bronze accreditation and across a range of business accolades including being twice named as Northern Ireland’s Architectural Practice of the Year, the Best Small Place to Work and receipt of a Legacy to Belfast award from the City Council for our contribution to the city’s urban regeneration.
We have in recent years re-established a presence in London, where our completed projects include reconfiguring sports facilities within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Our business expansion programme has seen our growing Dublin office relocate to new premises in Pembroke Lane, our securing of new commissions in Scotland and North West England, as well as international engagements, where we have been working on projects in Saudi Arabia and Kurdistan.
In 2015 we also entered into a strategic alliance, named 431 Architecture, with AJ100 practices Keppie and Stride Treglown. As a combined organisation we can offer: a resource base of over 500 staff: a very wide range of sectorial skills / specialisations: and a geographic spread of offices across the UK.
